MEET THE BIG FIVE
Elewana Lewa Safari Camp
Welcome to Elewana Lewa Safari Camp, a unique and exclusive retreat with privileged access to 65,000 acres of private protected wilderness inside Lewa Conservancy.
Visitors to hotels in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy are treated to the most spectacular wildlife viewing that Kenya has to offer. Lion, leopard and jackal stalk the diversity of prey inhabiting the rolling plains north of Mount Kenya. The wildlife Conservancy is also home to the largest concentration of Grevy’s zebra in the world, not to mention diverse birdlife and over 200 black and white rhino. Here, animal encounters are inevitable, and unforgettable.
Large tented bedrooms with verandahs and full en-suite bathrooms. Cosy log fires, perfect for relaxing after a day on safari. Lewa is a favoured destination of conservationists, writers, celebrities and Royals. And Elewana Lewa Safari Camp is the only tourist facility owned by the Conservancy. This means all profits and conservancy fees generated by the camp are reinvested directly into conservation and community efforts.

DREAMS OF AFRICA
FACILITIES & SERVICES
Game Drives
Occupying the entire eastern portion of the Conservancy and adhering to strict tourism quotas, visitors are treated to an almost exclusive wildlife viewing experience. The Conservancy, while expansive, is fenced – a rarity in Kenya – primarily to safeguard its rhino population. Game drives here are exceptional, offering sightings of abundant rhinos, elephants, buffalo, the endangered Grevy's zebra, and resident predators, all set against the picturesque backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kenya.
Walking Safari
There is no better way to get up close and personal with the wilderness than a walking safari. Feel the earth beneath your feet as you tread on the tracks of animals who may have passed minutes before, and use these same trails season after season on their migratory journey. In the company of our experienced armed guides, learn about the flora and fauna and the lives of the indigenous people who live and thrive in this land.
Ngare Ndare Forest Walk
The Ngare Ndare forest conservancy is a community conservancy to the south of Lewa. There is a canopy walk and a river to play in. Often, there are elephants in the forest, so you will be escorted by a Lewa walking guide. This is a full day out from camp with a picnic.
Bush Breakfast
An early morning wake-up call as the sun rises and light floods the landscape. Your table is already set, awaiting you in the wilderness. Our chef will cook for you while you enjoy a glass of bubbly or perhaps simply a rich Kenyan coffee.
Samburu Village
A guided visit to our local Samburu village allows guests to witness daily life in an African village and to experience Samburu culture first hand. This experience combines fun and learning by providing an insight into the history, traditions, cultural practices, songs, and dances of the Samburu.
Horse and Camel Riding
Evening horse rides allow you to get close to plains game because they'll view you as one of their own. Experienced riders only. Camel rides are available for those without horseback experience.
