GHERARDINI JUNIOR SUITE

Inside the Gherardini Junior Suite, a painting depicting the well‑known biblical episode of Moses Saved from the Waters is clearly visible on one wall. On the ceiling, there is a largely fragmentary fresco in which, fortunately, a young winged male figure remains clearly legible. With his head crowned by a garland and his cheeks puffed as he exhales a breath, this figure represents Zephyrus, the spring wind, traditionally depicted in this manner.

The frescoes can be dated to shortly after the mid‑eighteenth century and are attributed to a Florentine artist whose stylistic language is measured and oriented toward a fluid, airy classicism.
