Amir Golbarg

Amir first joined Minor Hotels in 2012 as Director of Operations & Hotel Openings based in the Bangkok corporate office. He then furthered his career with Minor Hotels with several international postings and became Hotel Manager at Souq Waqif Hotel Doha, Qatar in 2015. Amir then moved to Al Rayyan Hospitality and Katara Hospitality where he held the strategic position of Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Director in Qatar.

Since Amir joined Minor Hotels back in March 2019 as Vice President Operations - Middle East, his proactive and strategic leadership focused on improving processes and growing our footprint has proven successful in operational efficiency and addition of numerous new hotels despite the global pandemic. In September 2021, he was promoted to Senior Vice President Operations, Middle East & Africa to continue overseeing the Middle East region as well as manage all operations and the company’s performance in Africa.

In 2026, Amir got promoted to Chief Operating Officer – Middle East & Africa. The promotion reflects Amir’s exceptional leadership and the region’s record year of growth, marked by strong performance, multiple new hotel signings, and expansion in core markets.
