ACCOMMODATION
Nestled along the banks of its namesake river, Sand River Maasai Mara transports guests to the golden age of African safaris. The camp's 16 luxurious tented accommodations are a testament to the glamour and romance of 1920s expeditions, meticulously designed to evoke the spirit of that bygone era.
As you approach the camp, you'll find it thoughtfully divided into two intimate sections: the main Sand River area with 10 tents, and the more secluded "Little" Sand River, housing six tents. This layout ensures a sense of exclusivity and privacy for all guests, with each section boasting its own elegant dining and lounge areas.
The tents themselves are a perfect blend of comfort and nostalgia. Eleven double tents and four twin tents, each an impressive 49 sqm, offer ample space to unwind after a day of adventure. For families or those seeking extra room, the camp features a generous 87 sqm family tent, complete with two en suite bedrooms connected by a central lounge area – the ideal setup for shared experiences and private retreats.
Adding to the camp's flexibility, four of the tents come equipped with plush daybeds that can be converted into extra sleeping spaces, perfect for accommodating larger groups or for those who simply desire more lounging options. As you settle into your tent, surrounded by period furnishings and the soft glow of vintage-inspired lighting, you'll feel as though you've stepped into the pages of a Hemingway novel – all while enjoying the discreet modern comforts that make for a truly unforgettable stay in the heart of the Maasai Mara.
