The Big 3 in Sydney

We all know Australians are lovers of all things food, Masterchef has us enthralled and delighted with insatiable food envy, but the true foodies out there (you know who you are) have the cook books, you’ve downloaded the app, and you have somewhat successfully ‘recreated’ your favourite dishes.

You follow the celebrity and amateur chefs on Instagram and you’re planning your next holiday around where you are going to eat because they have designed the menu, or are even working in the kitchen … and if that’s you, then this is why you should look no further than Sydney.

Matt Moran, Neil Perry, and Kylie Kwong all play tug-a-war for the top spot of the top 3, but how can anyone make a call when they are all plating perfection. Here is all the details you need to get your holiday planning started:

Matt Moran’s ‘ARIA’ is located on Circular Quay with breathtaking views of the Sydney Harbour. The award winning menu was designed by Matt to showcase seasonal ingredients, cooked perfectly to create a well-balanced plate. Our Tip: book well in advance! The chance of calling a day ahead and getting a table is zero! For your average Friday or Saturday night, you will be pushing your luck if you wait any longer than 3 weeks prior.

Neil Perry’s classic ‘Rockpool EST 1989’ has now been transformed into ‘Eleven Bridge’. Moving from a traditional fine dining concept to serving locally sourced, sustainable produce in a more relaxed setting. Our Tip: Allocate enough times to come here 2 or 3 times across lunch and dinner, and again - book early! With 11 exciting new mains, representing the best of modern Australian cuisine, how are you ever going to choose which one to try?

Kylie Kwong, was trained by none other than Neil Perry himself. After completing her apprenticeship, she very boldly opened her own restaurant ‘Billy Kwong’ and it now has over 10 years of success in serving perfect Chinese eats. Our Tip: 1) Get there early because unfortunately, you cannot book a table, 2) take a cushion! The chairs are notoriously uncomfortable and jam packed into the Tiny Chinese Eating House and 3) pack your pennies, it is so easy to get carried away and tally up a very large bill and quickly!
