Oaks offers emergency accommodation for Australia’s homeless in response to COVID-19
Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites will provide emergency accommodation for rough sleepers in a selection of properties across Australia in response to COVID-19.
The initiative is in partnership with government bodies and will see over 1000 rough sleepers provided with a room and food supplies. The length of accommodation will be determined on a case-by-case basis following the advice of the government and charity partners. Daily support and medical assistance will be provided by those government bodies involved.
Accommodation with Oaks through the program is voluntary, and guests will have unrestricted movement. Oaks will continue to ensure all physical distancing requirements are met by hotel staff, and stringent cleaning routines are maintained in all common areas and back-of-house, for the safety of all staff and guests.
“This year Oaks has proudly offered support and accommodation to Australia’s most vulnerable, beginning with victims of the tragic bushfires earlier this year, and now providing a safe and comfortable place for Australians without a home during this time of crisis,” said Craig Hooley, Chief Operating Officer for Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites.
“We will continue to support our community however we can, including continuing to provide a home away from home for our guests to self-quarantine or self-isolate.” He concluded.
Oaks offers large residential-style accommodation with a variety of 1,2- and 3-bedroom apartments available, many of which have a full-service kitchen and laundry facilities.
Oaks offers accommodation for those who must self-quarantine or self-isolate:
Oaks continues to offer special rates to guests choosing to self-isolate or quarantine away from family during the Coronavirus pandemic. Guests can order groceries or Deliveroo via reception with the items delivered to their door, along with linens as required. Oaks is currently offering 25% off stays in two-bedroom apartments and 15% off stays in one-bedroom or studio apartments – plus a further 5% off when guests use the ‘MYOAKS’ promo code, valid for bookings placed before 31 May 2020 with stays until 31 December 2020. Guests can also book with confidence with Oaks’ flexible booking policy.
As a final gesture of good will, Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites offers health care workers complimentary take-away coffee from any of their on-site restaurants and cafes, along with buy-one-get-one-free on all menu items.
