Minor Hotels Celebrates TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards

Minor Hotels (MH), a hotel owner, operator and investor, currently with a portfolio of 146 hotels and resorts in 22 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, South America, Africa and the Indian Ocean, is celebrating a haul of TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence awards. Now in its sixth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to approximately ten percent of establishments listed on TripAdvisor that consistently achieve great traveller reviews on the site and continually deliver a superior customer experience.

Minor Hotels scooped a total of 86 Certificate of Excellence awards across its Anantara, PER AQUUM, Oaks, AVANI, Elewana and Tivoli brands, which included properties in Asia, the Indian Ocean, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. On this year’s list, 23 properties are first time recipients, with 63 having earned the certificate for at least two consecutive years.

Out of this year’s awards, 30 Anantara properties have been selected, 18 Oaks properties, eight Tivoli properties, six AVANI hotels and all three PER AQUUM properties.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site.  To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

“We are delighted that so many of Minor Hotels’ properties have once again been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. As a company, we take into account each and every review and use them as a learning tool to help improve our standards, this way every guest can help us to enhance their own experience We would like to use this opportunity to thank our wonderful guests, who continue to support us by leaving reviews, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them,” said Robert Kunkler, COO, Minor Hotels.
