Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas Scoop Accolades at the 2020 Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards
Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, one of the best hotel groups in the world, is proud that its portfolio of luxury properties around the world has been recognised with a total of 25 accolades in the 2020 Condé Nast Traveller US and UK Readers’ Choice Awards. The magazines represent the most prestigious and highly respected ranking of hotels, as voted for by their discerning readers who classified a selection of Anantara’s luxury portfolio as among the best in the world.
Leading these great results, four resorts have been named in the overall Best Resorts in the World, with Anantara Chiang Mai Resort in Thailand achieving #4, Naladhu Private Island Maldives #5, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in the UAE #29 and Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Oman #50, cementing an excellent overall result and placing these properties among the most inspirational, trusted and loved hotels in the world.
This year, as part of the travel industry’s most prestigious annual awards, more than 715,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted an incredible number of responses rating their travel experiences across the globe. “The results of this year’s survey, conducted at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, are a testament to the lasting power of meaningful travel experience,” said Jesse Ashlock, U.S. Editor of Condé Nast Traveler. “The winners represent the best of the best for our audience and offer plenty of trip-planning inspiration for all the adventures we can’t wait to have next.”

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort was named #1 in the Top 20 Resorts in Thailand category, followed closely by #3 Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, #5 Anantara Hua Hin Resort, #14 Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, #16 Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, #19 Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel was awarded #6 Top Hotel in Bangkok.
In the wider Asia category, Anantara Angkor Resort in Cambodia was awarded #10 in Top 20 Resorts in Asia, with Sri Lankan property Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort in #12. In the Indonesia category, Anantara was also recognised scooping #8 for Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort and #13 Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort.
All three Anantara properties in the Maldives were recognised in the Top 30 Indian Ocean Resorts category; #7 Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, #16 Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas and #26 Anantara Veli Resort Maldives.
In the Middle East, Anantara properties continue to be voted as some of the leading resorts in the region, with Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara named #1 Resort in the Middle East for the third consecutive year. Anantara properties counted for six of the Top 10 Middle East Resorts, with #2 Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, #5 Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, #7 Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, #9 Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort and #10 Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resort.
In Portugal and Zambia, Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort was ranked #21 Top Resort in Europe whilst The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara came in at #24 Top Resort in Africa.
The accolades also included Anantara sister properties in the Maldives, with Naladhu Private Island Maldives being voted #2 and Niyama Private Islands Maldives #18, both in the Top Resorts in The Indian Ocean.
