TIVOLI ORIENTE IN LISBON PRESENTS NEW DELUXE AND FAMILY ROOMS

The Tivoli Oriente, in Lisbon´s contemporary neighbourhood of Parque das Nações opened its doors in 2001, and quickly established itself as the area’s landmark hotel. With its 279 bedrooms and 11 meeting rooms, it spreads out over sixteen floors and its sleek façade of smoked glass soars above the busy thoroughfare and tree-lined pavements below.

A highly successful and sought after hotel, it has now invested in ten floors of totally refurbished rooms and bathrooms, whereas the hotel’s Conference Centre will be completely renovated during the summer months.

Under the supervision of Portuguese interior decorator Maria Ilharco, and spanning ten floors, the new rooms make the most of a palette of cool turquoise and restful charcoal grey – two colours that mirror the variety of vistas, over the River Tagus and the urban lines of the city itself. In line with Tivoli’s More Future sustainable development strategy, the focus is on local craftsmen and suppliers.

The rooms all offer such distinctive touches as a 32” screen and Nespresso coffee-machines and the bathrooms boast spacious walk-in showers, rainshower type heads and ample glass-topped vanity area.  “We’re very pleased with these rooms and our guests’ reactions to them have been highly enthusiastic – we now have all 279 rooms in the hotel fitted out to the same Tivoli standard which our clients expect from us” declares General Manager Fernando Rios.

As a response to the growing family clientele, the Tivoli Oriente now presents its own, very practical version of Family Rooms – rooms which comfortably accommodate three people with an innovative and comfortable cushion-packed bed, permanently in place – far superior to the rollaway beds most hotels offer.

The renowned T/Bed is the highlight of any Tivoli bedroom and the new rooms at the Tivoli Oriente are no exception: the down featherbed and lighter-than-air duvets are crowned by four generous pillows, encased in the finest hallmark Tivoli bed linen, ensuring that all-important result: a really good night’s sleep.

Parque das Nações - a thriving neighbourhood and a lively community

The Parque das Nações – literally Nations’ Park – is actually the former Expo’98 world exhibition site, previously an industrial heartland of the city. It has developed into one of Lisbon’s most exciting neighbourhoods. Here, successful contemporary urban landscapes provide endless variety: sleek residential condominiums, bustling shopping malls and dozens of corporate headquarters, bordered by the waters of the River Tagus and the stunning Santiago Calatrava-designed Gare do Oriente train station.

Although best-known as a business and meetings hotel, the hotel’s prime location also attracts the growing leisure and family guests, who flock to the Parque das Nações’ many visitor attractions – the MEO Arena, the Oceanarium, the Science and Knowledge Museum, the Lisbon Exhibition Centre or simply to try the dozens of riverside restaurants, cafés, bars and esplanades.
