PER AQUUM’s vision to make a difference extends to every aspect of the brand. In addition to support for Minor Hotels’ social and environmental projects, PER AQUUM creates and participates in a number of initiatives in the vicinity of its hotels.

Selected projects include:

Coral reef rehabilitation projects at PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi and PER AQUUM Niyama. Since launching in 2007, PER AQUUM guests in collaboration with the resorts’ resident marine biologists have planted thousands of corals in our house reefs, enriching the underwater habitats of the Maldives.

Kudahuvadhoo School

Resource support and educational outreach trips for a local Maldivian school.  Activities have included field trips to PER AQUUM Niyama including visits to its Explorers children’s club and tours of the island.

Manta ID Programme

In cooperation with the IUCN and Maldivian government, PER AQUUM’s marine biologists and guests take part in valuable documentation work, photographing the unique fingerprint-like colouration patterns of individual mantas in the North Male Atoll.

Riding for the Disabled

In collaboration with RDAD, a non-profit organization launched by Her Highness Sheikha Hassa bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1998, Desert Palm PER AQUUM hosts therapeutic horse riding workshops for children with disabilities.

PER AQUUM is passionately committed to extending its innovative business approach to sustainable practices and community outreach at each of its hotels and in its teams across the globe.
