The Northern Territory is buzzing with fishing enthusiasts hunting for an iconic NT barramundi. Seventy-six barramundi have been tagged and released in NT waters worth a total of $1,750,000. Seventy-five fish are worth $10,000 each and one swimmer out there is carrying a million dollar tag. With fishing locations stretching from Katherine, to Darwin, across to Tiwi Islands and back to Arnhem Land, the fish will be hard to find but the adventure will be worth search.

The fish were released in October and only five $10,000 barramundi have been reeled in. A few locals, a Queensland father and a couple from Palmerston are the winners to date. The competition is wrapping up on the 29th of February, leaving you plenty of time to register, grab your gear and make your summer an exciting one in the NT.
